We have 2 Sky HD boxes and one Sky HD subscription. The other box - one of the original Thompson HD boxes - is used for FREESAT viewing. Last night, when I turned on the FREESAT Box, I got a banner asking me to go to Sky Viewing Help. I provided Sky with all the information that was requested and when I clicked on the relevant link I was told that I was eligible for a new Sky HD box with built in wifi. Then the fun started. Initially, the Sky Customer Services agent said that he had never heard of such an offer. The line then went quiet and after a time he came back stating that this offer was going out to some old Thompson boxes by mistake, and why should I expect to get a replacement box when I wasn't using the box for Sky. After pointing out that I was only responding to a request from Sky to call them, we then finished the conversation. The irony is that I am currently sitting with a written multi-room offer from Sky for 12 months at £2.50 a month. If Sky was prepared to replace my original Thompson box free or at a discounted price then I might consider it. However, before I can even consider doing so I need to find a magnifying glass to read the extremely small small print at the bottom of the letter. Any thoughts on how I should play this one? We have been Sky customers for a new of years and have had multi room previously.
