Has MER been ditched?

Hi all

Have Sky ceased using MER? When I first got Sky Broadband it was PPPoA, and then changed to MER. I thought that would be last of it.

But today whilst on the online chat to Sky, trying to persuade them to upgrade me to the SR102, I noticed it is now PPPoA again.

Might I have more joy getting my own router rather than the Sky SR102?
