second hand hub

Hi, i have the standard white sky hub and openreach box for my fibre connection but i have a friend who is leaving sky who has the newer built in black hub
Can i buy that off him and use myself? and if so do i need to do anything to set it up, prefer that one as i can save a
plug socket and ethernet socket that way
