So I'm not (I think anyway) an idiot (normally) so don't click on obviously idiotic things online.
But for the last week I've been getting pop-up's opening new windows and occasionally in-view adverts on many common sites I visit eg theguardian.com
and on many sites key words are double underlined (i know the double underline is a problem link) to indicate a link to something else but these are for random web related words in the middle of articles.
Now I use Firefox and run No-Script and AdBlock Edge as extensions so these things are not normally in my browser view but recently they keep coming up.
I did find a program on my PC called "Click for Fun" which I have no idea where it came from. The first thing I found online said to uninstall this program which I did but this didn't fix the problem.
I have run Adaware, Spybot S&D and Super Antispyware along with my regular AV (AVG) but no problems are detected or at least none that fix my browsing issues.
If I use No-Script to stop a certain java script from running (akamaihd.net) on every site, then I get no problems with ads but unfortunately that means I cannot use facebook as all their network connections run through this domain. Now I don't use facebook all that often on the PC but it is a bit of a pain when a site doesn't work, but loads fine when I allow javascript on this particular domain.
Anyone else got these problems or know how to fix it?
