Hi everyone, I'm new here, but I've been looking through this forum with some interest before signing up... I'd like to pick peoples' brains, if possible, regarding my Sky Fibre Unlimited install which is going to be happening in a few days time...
I'm aware that the Sky Hub SR102 (which is what I'm going to be taking delivery for in the next few days) is SERIOUSLY under-specced, but I'm wondering if it's worth going for a combined router/VDSL2 model such as the ASUS DSL-A68U or NetGear D6400, or if it would be better to save a few pennies and get a wireless router to put in the SR102's DMZ... (even though the ports on the SR102 are only 10/100Mbps)
I THINK (but not 100% certain) that my choice is limited by the location of my phone port - it's towards the front of the house, my home office is near the back. The kids' bedrooms are at the back of the house too. They'll probably be using the 2.4GHz channel while I use 5GHz...
So, will I be better off placing a combined VDSL modem/router near the phone point, or using the SR102 with an ethernet cable to a separate router placed in a more central location? And which will give me a more reliable connection - I have to have reliability as well as speed as I work from home...
Thanks in advance!
