Uber techy question about DL2640, Static DNS, and Firewalls.

Hullo! This is my first post, but I've used your combined knowledge to do everything I wanted to do with my router - except one persistent problem.

I wanted a static DNS server (Unblock - US) due to an issue with PS3's Netflix app using it's own DNS and not picking up my "new" Netflix regions.

So I:

  • Enabled TELNET
  • Used Putty to set dns static 208.122.22.23 203.122.23.
  • And it works a treat!

Next I have to block my PS3's IP address from accessing a DNS server of it's own,

  • I set a firewall rule (DNS) for the IP address (static) of my PS3, and block all WAN addresses from using post 53

The problem is that any device that was using DHCP for DNS can't connect, only by setting static DNS servers on each of the devices do I get them to connect. There are no firewall logs from any other devices but the PS3.

My question is, was is a) my dns static setup, or b) a goofy firewall setting that has screwed this up?

Any help would be awesome!
