Hi,
I am currently using the Sagem 2504 router, which is positioned at the rear downstairs of my house. I need to get internet access for my new PC which is in my bedroom upstairs but will not pick up the wireless signal. I have tried many different wireless adapters and none have worked so I have decided that I will run a cable upstairs which I do not mind doing.
However the problem is that I have 3 devices upstairs which I would like to connect to the internet also. I purchased the TP-Link TL-SF1005D mini desktop switch so I would only have to run one cable up the stairs.
When I connect my laptop directly to the router with a cable there is no problem, the internet connection works fine. However when I connect the switch to the router and then to my laptop, I get a notification saying it is connected to an unknown network with no internet access.
Does anyone know what the problem is? I have tried all of the wires and they are all fine.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Will
