Wake on Lan won't work outside of network

My story so far.

I had BT Infinity and using a home hub successfully set up an iPhone app called Screens which in short is a screen sharing app which I use with my iMac at home. I could connect perfectly both inside my wifi network and away from home on 3G. The app uses Screens Connect installed on the iMac to keep a track on IP stuff!! My only problem was that the App would not wake the sleeping iMac outside of the wifi network.

To fix this I set up my time capsule in the place of the home hub. Then I could wake the Mac every time wherever I may be.

I have just moved now to Sky Fibre and experienced the same issues not being able to wake the sleeping iMac away from the home network.

Today I have managed to set my Time Capsule just as I did with the BT Infinity but I'm having the same issues not being able to wake it from sleep outside of the home network.

Just a few points that I think may be important.

With the BT set up I put the username and password in the PPPoE tab but with sky I had to change the configuration internally as per a great post on here leaving the Internet tab showing DCHP.

I connect to the time capsule via Powerline Adapters with my wifi off and reserve the same IP address every time.

I have port forwarded 5900 to the reserved IP address.

I've read a few posts in the past about the Magic Wakeup packet not getting through the firewall of some routers which is why it wouldn't work on the home hub or the Sky router but I know that it has done on the Time Capsule in the past.

The App screens has been updated a few times since with BT but I can't think that is the problem.
