Over the last week, we have had this message appear on all recorded programmes in our planner and nothing for that whole morning/afternoon is being recorded, when we reboot the Q 2TB box, the programmes that have been missed show up as Failed, Power cut and the pre-recorded stuff is available again until the next time it happens, could this be something simple or is it gonna be a new box kinda thing

RT-N66U and Netgear DM200 help needed
Hello,
Been lurking on this forum recently but I thought I would join as I am struggling to find an exact answer to my problem with a recent date.
Recently purchased NOW TV fibre on 1 month rollling contract as I am concidering leaving Virgin Media due to there ongoing HUB3 Puma 6 issues.
As NOW TV and Sky Fibre are the same service just with different branding all sky info should still be relievent.
I am trying to setup a Netgear dm200 in modem mode with an RT-N66u using Merlin ver380 dated jan 2018.
when I use the dm200 as a 1 port router it connects to the service fine and I get a full stable connection (wiresharked the nowTV/Sky router for the login and configured the dm200 accordingly, also cloned the stock routers MAC) but when i switch to modem mode and configure option 61 with in the RT-N66u I dont get a connection.
I just get "your isps DHCP is not functioning correctly" tried with and without the single quotes, tried cloning the stock routers MAC but still no luck with the router. What am I doing wrong?
Im a little frustrated with this as my sync speed is pretty good 74/20 so if I can get this working I can wave goodbye to Virgin. I get a higher throughput with VM (106/7) but its ping spiking issue makes any sort of gaming or voip an issue. Slightly slower downloads for 10-15ms reduction in pings is more than acceptable for my needs.

Sky extends Premier League rights through to 2022
https://www.skygroup.sky/corporate/m...hrough-to-2022
Sky to show more Premier League matches than ever before
Following the outcome of the recent Premier League auction, from 2019 Sky will show more matches than ever before, with the biggest matches in the best slots sitting alongside an ever broader offering of drama, entertainment and comedy.
With four packs of rights totalling 128 games a season, up from 126 matches currently, the deal will offer Sky Sports viewers every first-pick weekend match, plus Saturday evening fixtures for the first time, all screened on Skys dedicated Premier League channel.
Sky has chosen to pay £1,193 million per annum under the terms of the new deal, down £199 million per annum, a 16% cost reduction per game versus the current agreement.
Sky has acquired the following rights between 2019/20 and 2021/22:
The agreement strengthens Skys position as the best provider of the broadest range of content, which includes ten channels of sport covering live Premier League, English Football League, Scottish Football, exclusive coverage of Formula 1 from 2019 to 2024, plus England cricket through to 2024. This great sport sits alongside the best drama, comedy and entertainment, which will include over 50 Sky Original productions over the course of 2018. These content investments across the whole portfolio reflect Skys continuing journey towards a more broadly-based business which seeks to provide something for every household and everyone in the household.
Stephen van Rooyen, Skys UK Chief Executive, said: We continue to invest in content that our customers value and which complements our strategy to broaden our offer. Not only do we remain the home of Premier League football but also the home of top quality drama, entertainment, comedy and other sports. Our disciplined approach means we continue to have the flexibility to invest in each of these areas as we choose, underlining our position as Europes largest investor in content.
Barney Francis, Managing Director of Sky Sports added: Sky Sports customers will continue to enjoy unrivalled Premier League coverage through to 2022 with 128 live matches a season from next year - more than ever before including the key head to heads in the best slots and, of course, analysis from the biggest names in football.
This comes on the back of recent renewals for EFL, ECB and exclusivity for F1, all of which will be available to our customers until 2024.

Bose Soundtouch 20 & Panasonic TX42AS650 using Sky Q remote
Folks - newbie here!
I have connected the above two together via bluetooth - the Soundtouch auto connects once the TV is switched on and the soundtouch display says "connected to Panasonic Viera" and the sound is piped through. However, to adjust the sound I can only use the bose remote - I have repeatedly tried to program the Q remote to operate the Soundtouch with no success - is it possible to program the Q remote and if so please advise me how to do it!
Resonse so far, hence post to this forum!
Thank you for your inquiry. Since the SoundTouch 20 wasn't necessarily engineered to be used primarily as a speaker for your TV, we don't officially recommend using 3rd-party remote controls with this system. Instead, we'd recommend controlling the system with the included remote control, or with the SoundTouch app.
This being said, it still MAY be possible. Since the included remote control operates using IR (Infrared), a 3rd-party remote might be able to send commands to the SoundTouch 20. However, we don't keep a record of 3rd-party device codes for Bose products. We'd recommend reaching out to the 3rd-party remote-control manufacturer to see what Bose remote-codes they may have available, and see if any of them work for you.
Can any of you kind souls assist please

SR102 router - can i swop for another SR102?
My sons 38 Mbps connection has problems and I tried replacing his SR102 with one I'd used when with Sky for a similar connection. I didn't expect it to work but much to my surprise it did and it also solved the WiFi problems at the same time.
Is this a permanent solution or will Sky eventually realise the router isn't the correct one for the account? I left Sky about 6 months ago and is it possible my account details are still active if on a Sky activated line?
Any thoughts appreciated.

Sky Talk Shield
Oh well so much for that. After reading a post on here about the new all singing and dancing Sky Shield I decided to try it. I have been paying four pounds a month for a long time to stop callers that withhold their numbers. That, to be honest, has been pretty pathetic as far as foreign scammers are concerned. As I have posted previously I have a phone that has BT call Screening on it and that to an extent has been fairly successful. I still get "unavailable" calls registered on my phone though. I have no idea what these calls are and they do not get past the BT Call Screening robot but I still have to delete the entry. I was hoping that Sky Talk Shield would block these numbers but nnnaaaaa not a chance. Oh well at least Sky Talk Shield is free even though it doesn't actually work fully so I am saving my £4 a month so I suppose that is a result of sorts.

HDD Noise
So, just upgraded to Q and already wondering if it was the right decision!
My wife already hates it because she cant change the channel when either child has took the remote to play with on her iPhone app (first world problems!)
The HDD is very loud on it. Louder than my old sky+HD was. Appreciate that a 2TB SSD is well out of scope for essentially a free box, but the HDD in the new box is loud. I can hear it when there is a gap in the sound on a TV programme from the other side of the room.
Ive disable pushed content etc, but its generally always doing it.
Its louder than any PC I have ever had. I get that its physical moving parts but there is a definite thud every half second or so.
Normal?
Recorded this tonight for opinion. Hope Tapatalk can host it.

Switching bb and line rental
My minimum 12 months term is up in around 3 weeks, i pay £18.99 at present so my new bill will jump up to £28.99 after the minimum period.
No offers online after i click the link ' thinking of cancelling bb' it just says contact us on this number to discuss this.
I am thinking of switching, is it normal now not to offer anything online and insist on a phone call?

Extending connection to master socket
Until now my router (SR102) has just been kicking around on the floor, I have no other way to place it near the master socket. I've moved it now and had to use a 5m phone extension cable but (as expected) its affected the router connection speed, its current down from 37Mb to about 31Mb (as displayed in the router stats). Line attenuation has increase from 19 to 21. The cable is only a cheap "flat" type, so the question is if i tried a better quality cable will I recover much of the lost speed or am I wasting my time ? will it make any difference if I extend after the microfilter ? (currently the microfilter is at the end of the 5m extension). For example I could try this RJ11 lead: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B007OU99...ing=UTF8&psc=1

SKY Q Hub - ER115 is it hackable?
Is there a way to get root access?, just because I am curious.
I see this has the same chip as the SR102 and the same header pinout. Nothing useful comes out the serial port, and I was only able to Read the first 1MB of the flash (via jtag). I've ignored the other I2C ? port.
I'm unable to replace the Bootloader ;(
has anyone else had any success?

You do not subscribe to this!!!!
We have recently had Sky Q installed after many years with sky+. We do not have HD.
Firstly the TV guide is very different but I suppose we will get used to it.
In catch-up we tried to download a programme on Sky arts channel, we go to the programme and select the Sd format and press select to download but get a message that we do not subscribe to this etc. We can watch Sky arts current programmes.
Any help would be appreciated as my wife wants to watch the Freddie Mercury programme.

TV options in temporary rental house?
Long story short, we need to move out of our house due to major structural problems - an insurance job luckily. Currently on a rolling 30-days as we knew this was coming. We have Sky Q and watch a lot of football and Formula One so are keen to have Sky in our temporary rental. It has no Sky dish or Virgin cable and current tenant uses BT for broadband, TV and phone which would be no good for the sport we watch. Our first job is to ask the owner if they are happy for us to get a Sky dish put up which would simplify things as we could get on to the Moving team to sort things out. If not, then Virgin's a no-go too as there would need to be drilling.
Now TV is a good option but we can't record Sky which means 6a.m. starts for some of the Formula One races! While searching for possible solutions I have come across the option of a dish on a tripod in the garden which is used by caravanners apparently. Sounds a bit bizarre but does anyone have any experience of this please?
Any other suggestions welcome.

Will a new router help me?
I have Sky Broadband Fibre/Sky Q and have two issues, a lower than expected speed and occasional very low speeds. Typically I get about 15mbps but sometimes as low as 3mbps. Before I moved to Sky I had BT Infinity and the speed was typically 25mbps.
I am very disillusioned with Sky and will probably move back to BT when my 18month contract ends in September. In the meantime is there anything to be gained by replacing the ER110 with something else? If I do buy a new modem/router then I would like to get one that will also work with BT Infinity.
Thanks in advance.

Fasten your seatbelt as Sky One announces Faster: Race the World - the ultimate urban driving competition
https://www.skygroup.sky/corporate/m...ng-competition
Furiously fast cars. Six fearless drivers. A globetrotting competition hosted by Steve Jones to crown the ultimate driving champion. Meet Faster: Race the World (working title) a brand new Sky Original Production that will have you on the edge of your seat.
The turbocharged driving show, which will air on Sky One and TV streaming service NOW TV, features six of the best drivers in Britain chosen because of their nerveless need for speed, including firefighters, weekend racers and chauffeurs. Pitted against each other in head-to-head challenges, in each episode the Faster crew travel to a major city to tap into the urban glamour and local car culture before putting their pedals to the metal.
With weekly speed and skill challenges, the slowest driver faces elimination in a full-throttle race to be crowned Fasters fastest. Formula 1 presenter and driving nut Steve Jones will be joined by car expert and professional racing driver Robb Holland as the drivers jump behind the wheel of the authentic cars used by local crews from the legendary Japanese drifters to the iconic American muscle dragsters.
Whether tearing across sand dunes in SUVs in Dubai, powering over frozen lakes in Finland or burning rubber in Miami, Faster: Race the World is the ultimate driving competition for petrolheads and entertainment enthusiasts alike. Who will walk away with the bragging rights? Who is Faster?
Steve Jones said: Faster: Race the World is the kind of dream job you pray for as a presenter. In fact dream job is doing it a disservice, its just a dream - fast cars, globally exotic locations and a chance for some lucky individuals to exceed their limits. Bring it!
Phil Edgar-Jones, head of entertainment at Sky, said: We want entertainment shows that look and feel like movies for Sky One and Faster: Race the World delivers this in spades high octane, electrifying, adrenalin-fuelled races from across the world thatll set pulses racing and raise audiences collective blood pressure to new levels.
Twenty Twenty managing director Emma Willis said: Faster: Race the World is a thrilling format and were delighted to be bringing it to Sky One. Its bold and ambitious, qualities we strive for at Twenty Twenty, and we hope audiences will join us for this adrenaline-fuelled competition that unfolds in the most fanatical and car crazy cities in the world.
Martin Oxley, Motion Content Group, said: The concept of mixing all the style and excitement of street racing with a world tour for some brilliant car hobbyists will make Faster: Race the World an unmissable treat. Emma Willis and her team at Twenty Twenty have proven how expertly they can marry great casting with clever formatting, and we couldnt be more delighted to be working with such a talented crew.

How to get a static IP?
Just wondering if this is possible on Sky Fibre Max? I'm trying to figure out why my IP has changed from dynamic to static recently, I can think of a few possibilities:
1. I requested it (i vaguely remember trying to contact support about going static and forgetting about it)
2. I gave a relative my old SR102 modem a month or two ago (different MAC addresses though)
3. I messed with IPv6 settings about a month ago, managed to take myself offline for 24hrs (custom firmware/router)
4. NSA/GCHQ are watching
I've nothing showing regarding a static IP on my account. I've also messed with IPv6 settings before so I haven't a clue what's going on
