Sky email / Gmail

I have both a sky email address and a gmail address.
Managed somehow to allow gmail to " take control" of my sky email inbox, now all my sky emails are contained in the gmail inbox and any new mail that arrives in to sky inbox are taken and added to gmail.
My entire sky inbox is however displayed in " deleted".
How do i reverse this process PLEASE .
I am just afraid of deleting the gmail account under " settings" within sky yahoo email ( and vice versa) in case i lose them all.

No Dial Tone after Broadband Upgrade

I wonder if anyone can explain fibre broadband connectivity in relation to the telephony side of Sky's service, please?

I was upgraded to Sky Superfast Broadband from Sky standard FTTC broadband. At the same time as this was implemented, I lost my dial tone although I could hear a clicking sound on my phone. I reported this to Sky who diagnosed an external fault and passed it to OpenReach. On the same day I reported it, the clicking sound went off and there is now absolute silence on the phone.

What I would like to know is, is there anything physically done when upgrading to Sky Superfast Broadband or is it done in software? If it is software, then it might just be a coincidence that Sky Talk stopped working at the same time as the upgrade. If it's a physical change, then I suspect that although the broadband service is connected in the cabinet, the telephone service back to the local exchange hasn't been connected. The broadband is working perfectly.

I've tried different phones plugged into the master socket and plugged directly into the voice port on the router (just in case), but none of that has solved the issue.

An OpenReach operative came today but apparently "didn't have the skills" to fix the problem. I asked if there was dial tone at the cabinet, but he commented "I don't need to check that". I'm wondering why he wouldn't check there to determine whether the fault is towards my house or back towards the exchange. If it is towards my house, the broadband is working incredibly well on a faulty pair of copper wires.

Hi Guys

My daughter having problems log into her sky emails, when try to log in she is getting this message

ACESS DENIED

you dont have permission to access "http://ogwam.sky.com/AK_PM_VPATH0/" on this server


She has used the same email for the last six months no bother at all, So why should we get error now, any help, Please

Sky Q Network Connection and Sort-Of Fix

Like some others on this and other forums, I'm having problems with connecting my Sky Q box to the network in my home. The Sky operative who installed the box last week couldn't get it to connect but I told him to leave it - how hard could it be I thought? Very hard, is the answer!


WiFi and Sky broadband work perfectly throughout the house and I had no problems with the old Sky HD box (that was wired in but also worked with wireless). However, the Sky Q box (no other Sky boxes are involved here) will not connect to my Sky router (Sky Broadband Hub) using wired or wireless. I've tried disabling the wireless and connecting the Sky Q box directly into the router. I’ve tried using WPS and manually connecting. I’ve tried using DHCP and manual IP settings. Still no joy. Sometimes it'll appear to connect for a short while (30 seconds or so) and I see it as an attached device in the router admin portal, but it soon drops out.


Then I thought, the common element here is the Sky Router. So, I connected the Sky Q box to a wireless hot spot on my mobile phone. That worked perfectly and appeared to be stable. But this is not a good solution. Next, I tried an external TP-Link Access Point (configured just as an access point) connected to the Sky router but this didn’t work, so I configured it as a router. That also works perfectly.


I’m wondering what the difference is, apart from the IP addresses allocated, and why the Sky Q box won’t connect directly to the Sky router when it’s very happy connecting indirectly through another router. Maybe it doesn’t like the 192.168.1.0/24 network.


It seems that this may be a software issue (following a recent upgrade) but I'll do some more playing later - until the Sky operative comes next week. I'm sure he/she will be able to fix it.

Does NOW TV ADSL still use MAC Encapsulated Routing (MER)?

I've just switched to NOW TV ADSL, I can use PPPoA to connect, but I'd like to switch to MER if it's supported. I've extracted the client ID and vendor ID from Hub Two, it cannot get an IP using DHCP with these settings. I've tried different combinations of VCI 40/38 and encapsulation VCMUX/LLC as well as spoofing the MAC address of the DSL interface. When I had Sky VDSL2, I was able to use MER (transfer mode was PTM which is different from what I use now - ATM for ADSL).

Has NOW TV / Sky stopped using MER for ADSL? Is anyone able to use MER for ADSL?

Third Party Router with Sky Ultrafast Fibre

Hi,

I currently have Sky Fibre Pro using a Billion 8900AX Router which supports Option 61 to authenticate with Sky.

My question is, if I upgrade to Sky Ultrafast Fibre will I need to change my router?

I was about to push go on the order then the "Sky Expert" told me I'd get a new Sky Router which immediately rang alarm bells as I have specific services running on my Billion Router (VPN Access, Virtual Servers, Port Forwarding etc) which I can image won't be available on the one supplied by Sky.

Any help would be really appreciated :)

Can I use an ASUS GT-AC5300 Router with Sky?

Good evening.

I'd very much like to replace my Sky ER115 hub. I have bought a Draytek Vigor 130 modem and set that up in bridge mode. I have also bought an ASUS ROG GT-AC5300 router.

As things stand this setup does not work - the router webpage reports a DHCP error with the ISP. I realise that this is because the router needs to be configured for DHCP option 61 (MER).

ASUS support have advised that the router does not support option 61 and my first instinct is to return it. However, I have seen a post on this forum from Shonk dated way back in 30-09-17 which says that this very router can be used if you telnet in a code sequence to the router to enable option 61.

As a total newbie to this kind of stuff, can anyone tell me that a) this router will work with Sky and b) how do telnet into the router?

Is it possible to make ADSL DLM prioritize latency over bandwidth

I've tried in the past to ask Sky to change my line from Interleaved mode to Fastpath mode, they just couldn't do it. I'm now on NowTV. Is there anything I can ask them to do to make DLM optimize the line to reduce latency as opposed to increase sync rate?

I have a perfect signal on my old SKY+ box but if I change to the newer SKY HD box if reports no signal on either input.
I can only assume that the box is no good but don't have a spare to check it with.
Any other suggestions?

skyq keeps losing signal

Hi Guys
i have had skyq since june this year the problem is the box keeps losing signal from the router.
If i turn the box off and then back on its back fine even if i turn the router off and back on its fine, trouble is it's happening almost everyday.
The skyq box is connected to the router with a cable.

Any ideas what i can do to stop the problem?

Help Slingbox to Sky Q

Hi guys

Sorry if this has been already covered.

I have a problem connecting my new Sky Q box with my Slingbox. It is the new full Sky Q box I have upgraded but I can not connect my Slingbox to it.

I had my M1 Slingbox connected Sky HD+ for years and have upgraded to Sky Q but i when I run the setup I keep getting a message saying no video signal. I followed all the steps correctly but I still have the same problem.

I have a scart lead from the M1 slingbox to HDMI convertor to put the 3 pins, red, white and yellow and that connects into the Sky Q box via USB.

Would you have any idea how to fix it

couple of questions about series link on sky plus

hi.

I have some questions about series link on sky plus HD.

first, I'd like to know if it's possible to delete a series link from the list of current recordings (that is to say, I just finished a recorded show, and go back, and delete the series link)
secondly I'd like to know the rule about sky recording new series of a show. does it record series 2 of a show by itself (unless you delete the series before), or do you have to do something/ press something for it to record the next series. I've actually had both situations: I've had a new series of a show record i didn't want, then a new series of a show I wanted to record not actually record so I missed it

I've just got Ultrafast 1 Broadband and I want to replace the SR204 standard router with my ASUS RT-N66U. Has anyone got any experience of how to do it? I tried getting the username and password out of the router but it wouldn't pick it up

I switched to Talktalk FF150 17months ago
due to sky not doing it yet

anyway my contract is almost up
so have ordered Sky Ultrafast 1 £35 a month with no boost

Talktalk are really keen and offered me £19.95 for Faster Fibre 150 to stay

but Talktalk's routing is a mess i have 2ms to the dslam
but they route me all over the country so my ping to london is 14ms
its 6ms once in a blue moon when the routing is good
so really dont want to stay with them


My hope was that sky would maybe have an offer like the £27 for VIP customers for Ultrafast 1
but for Ultrafast 2

e.g. Sky Ultrafast 2 for Vip Customers £37 a month or £40 a month

I have phoned sky twice and they insist they dont even do Ultrafast 2 nevermind an offer on it

anyone had any luck?



New Sky Q installtion, sound keeps dropping out

Hi Everybody,

I've tried searching for my problem on this forum but i keep getting an error in the search box so apologies if this has been discussed before.

I upgraded my old sky+ box last week to a Sky Q 2TB box and a couple of mini boxes. I've noticed on my 2TB box that the sound keeps dropping out for a second every minute or so. The mini boxes don't do this. If I turn the box off at the mains then reboot it the sound issue is sorted for the rest of the day but then the next day I have the same issue, sound drops out for a second every minute or so. This doesn't happen on live tv, just on Netflix and recorded/downloaded programs. My 2TB box is connected to a Samsung TV.

Before I phone Sky about this, does anyone know if this is a common issue? Is it easily fixed? I'm liking the new Q system i'm just disappointed with the sound issue. can any one help?

Audio sync way out.

Searched and can't find anything relevant.
SkyQ 2TB v3 HDR box and audio sync is a long way out. Quite noticeable when first turning (or after the inevitable re-boots as a first fix) but then gets steadily worse to a point where it's painful. It isn't adjustable via settings and, as said, just gets further out of sync as time goes on. Turn on the following day and returns to being 'quite noticeable' ..............rinse and repeat.

Any ideas to fix would be appreciated.

My parents have an old SR101, i want to replace it with a Billion 7800DXL

I have retrieved the login details and put them in the Option 61 client ID, selected IP over Ethernet, set up options for VPI/VCI(0/40), changed the Encapsulation mode to VC/MUX

I can get a line rate but no connection, can anyone help please?

How do I stream video and audio from Synology NAS to Sky Q box?

I can successfully stream media content (video, audio, photo) to other devices - Sony, LG, Panasonic TV's and Apple devices
But cannot see an option on Sky Q box to see media players.

Also, is it possible to install Synology applications on Sky Q box - DS Video, DS Audio etc
